VOD DUBAI INTERNATIONAL JEWELLERY SHOW HOSTED 3RD MIDDLE EAST JEWELLERY DESIGNERS’ FORUM

The New Jeweller Group returned to VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show 2019 for the third edition of the Middle East Designers’ Forum on November 13th. The forum was divided into two panel discussions involving eminent industry speakers. Panel 1, moderated by Kevin Badni - Dean College of Arts and Creative Enterprises Zayed University, included Nirupa Bhatt - Managing Director GIA India and Middle East, Saeed Mortazavi - Head of Mortazavi Design Academy Iran, Naida Abbas - Assistant Professor College of Arts and Creative Enterprises Zayed University and Tarun Jain - Head of Dubai Design Academy DMCC. The experts shared their thoughts on ‘Jewellery Designing: Transformation in Education’. Panel 2 involved key opinion leaders such as Maha Al Sibai - Founder of Maha Al Sibai Jewellery, Costa El Hreich - Chief Executive Officer Al Marayah Jewellery, Ameera AbdulRazaq Al Oraimi - Designer and Owner Leleganza Lusaka Jewellery, Sanjay Jaiswal Director of Jewel Gold India, Shaikha Bint Abdulla Bin Eisa Al Serkal -Jewellery Designer and Owner Al Serkal Jewellery and Chandu Siroya - Managing Director Siroya Jewels Dubai. The topic of discussion was ‘Jewellery Design: The Future Road Map’ where the experts shared their opinion on how jewellery designers become brands, job opportunities in the jewellery industry and revival of heritage jewellery. Other participants included retailers, manufacturers, designers, educators, students, association heads, and other key personalities from the region’s jewellery industry. |
The forum was Hosted by VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show, Powered by GIA, and Supported by Jewel Goldi, Maha Al Sibai, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group. The Dubai Design Academy, an initiative of DMCC was the official Education Partner and Zayed University was the official Knowledge Partner.
